Moonshiner 28 is fast becoming one of the great must-do roads of western North Carolina. Everyone has heard of the Tail of the Dragon and now there is another comparable road that is less crowded and offers even more to see for the two-lane tourist.

Devils Triangle

This 44 mile loop includes TN 62, TN 116 and TN 330. The interesting sections are on TN 116. The western most fun begins at Brushy Mountain Penitentiary and continues northeasterly for 3.5 miles. The tight twisties are as good as the Tail of the Dragon but there are even more dangers here.

The Suches Loop is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains just north of the charming, historic mountain town of Dahlonega. The three-road loop is located within the Chattahoochee National Forest, and there’s an abundance of streams, waterfalls, lush forests, and historic sites in the area.
