Cheery Dog Cabin

The cabin is nestled deep in the woods of Cherry Log Mountain, and the GPS will lead you straight to it. Despite being pet-friendly, the place did not have a pet odor, which I had initially feared. The entire house was clean and exactly what we needed for a weekend retreat. We were greeted by a multitude of deer grazing upon our arrival, and they seemed entirely unbothered by our presence. It was a lovely getaway.

The cabin was beautiful. The fenced back yard was great for my Service dog to play! The area was peaceful and the cabin itself was lovely Great space and would return.

I loved this cabin! The beds were very comfy, iit has nice furnishings and was extremely clean. My pups loved the fence in yard and I didn't have to worry about them when they went outside. I will be staying here again! Great cabin!

We were searching for the perfect pet-friendly getaway, and WOW, did we find it! From the moment we stepped inside, my husband was absolutely thrilled. The cabin exceeded all of our expectations, but what really stood out was the secure fencing! Our older dog is quite the escape artist, and she immediately went on patrol, inspecting every inch of the fence and testing all the gates. To my delight, she remained safely contained throughout our entire stay. My husband enjoyed it so much that he suggested we come back every month! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Call us crazy. We have a very active 6-month-old sheltie but we wanted to get away to the mountains from steamy Central Florida for a week. We searched for a cabin that was pet-friendly—but never imagined one THIS pet-friendly. We found Cheery Dog on VRBO and booked. It was the only cabin in our budget with a bona fide fenced-in yard! Look, puppies are unpredictable, even on a leash. The cabin was tucked away from traffic, secreted in the woods, had a gate protecting the passage into and out of the cabin - and - the best of all - motion security lights - on the parking area, entry walk to the front porch, and one focused on the fenced yard. The yard was also ringed with string lights adding a special glow to the woods. We did not use the fire pit or the picnic table. But thought, "This place is magic. It's tailor-made for puppy safety." Out of sheer respect (some cabin owners require it) don't forget to bring a travel carrier for your dog to bunk down inside the cabin! On caveat though, descending the steps to the penned yard can be a bit perilous - lose stones slide underfoot on the unevenly spaced steps. Just take your time on this part. The rest of the adorable cabin and amenities are set up for a comfortable stay. We loved it and Lindy the sheltie gave it two paws up. '-)

If you are looking for the perfect mountain getaway, look no further. This cabin is ideal for anyone looking to be surrounded by nature while also being 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The drive up the mountain to the cabin was peaceful and offers breathtaking views. There are walking/hiking trails available on the mountain which made the cabin even more perfect. The love for dogs that this cabin offers is more than you could dream of - incredible fenced in yard with multiple entrances, surrounded by woods for extra exploring, dog bowls and beds available for serene porch sitting, and cute dog fixtures all throughout the cabin (just to name a few). The fireplace inside the cabin was very cozy during colder days, and both beds were extremely comfortable! The host was a pleasure, proactively communicating with us to ensure a wonderful stay. We would love to make visiting this cabin for the holidays our new family tradition!
